Mixed Media with Laura Louise

Learn Layering, Detailing, Color, and Texture in this two hour class.

*In this class we will learn how to create a beautiful piece of art on a 16X20 canvas. We will be using a variety of materials and techniques. You will learn and explore how to layer, add texture, discover color combos, and use detail work to create a beautiful mixed media piece.

*We will start with learning a little bit about color combinations, from bold to pastels; discovering how they affect moods and emotions.

*Next we will cover the basics of layering and building up that base. We will be using paper, fabrics, stamping, and any found objects you'd like to bring and add to your mixed media piece.

*You will also learn about texture and how it can add another layer of interest to your piece. Examples will be with tissue paper, joint compound, and even coffee grounds.

*Finally we will have fun adding those final details that can transform your mixed media piece from ordinary to FABULOUS! The techniques we will explore will be with pens, colored pencils, pastels, and more.

*This class will give you a good understanding of mixed media and the techniques it takes to create something beautiful. So bring your imagination, creativity, and let's make an extraordinary piece of art and have some fun!

*Supplies provided with class price will be brushes, paint, canvas, top coat & decoupage medium, layering and texture supplies (feel free to bring any found objects you'd like to add), and color wheels to share.

Learn the meditative magic of weaving through round weaving where we’ll create something unique to you by weaving directly onto a hidden steel hoop — no loom necessary. This workshop is for complete beginners and there are no prior skills or experience required.

In this three hour class with Danielle Kaminski you will create your own 16x20 Canvas Weaving 3D art piece from beginning to end.

You will create your textured canvas, stitch on your warp base, and add the 3D woven elements directly onto your canvas.

In this one hour workshop we are going to talk about what project management is and how it can help you to move past these blocks to become more productive and stop wasting precious time for good!

We will take classic project management methods adjusted to suit the needs of creatives and small business owners and apply them. From setting up the project framework, managing and executing all the tasks and finally, closing the project, you will learn the steps to see things through to the end in a visual and organized way so that it can be applied to each project you tackle.
