I’m a sucker for a good love story, but mine is my favorite. Not because it’s provocative or especially remarkable, but because it is ours. I can imagine you probably feel the same way!
There was a time when Wedding Dresses were passed down through the generations with frequency, but the majority of brides want their own dresses these days. I remember when the “trash the dress” trend was popular. It made my heart hurt. I never had visions of a daughter walking down the aisle in my wedding dress, but I did want to turn my gown into special pieces that could be enjoyed.
Shortly after our 10 year wedding anniversary I finally made it happen!
Wedding Dresses can be repurposed in so many ways. If you are interested in having yours turned into wall art, I’d love to work with you!
Commissions
All Canvas Weaving Commissions, including ReMADE Dress Art, start at $145 for pieces that measure up to 12x12. Current pricing for larger sizes is calculated at $0.85 per square inch.
You can provide sentimental materials for your piece in order to tell a story that is special for you. When a client opts to provide materials (clothing, letters, jewelry, etc) we will actually plan a 30 minute meeting to ensure that I have a full understanding of the story we are telling with your piece and the sections of fabric that you would like to have most prominent in your finished piece.
The standard timeline for completing a piece is 2-3 weeks, but may vary depending on the retail season, current works in progress and the size of the piece. To start a conversation about your commission, simply e-mail me at info@danielleskaminski.com.
